No More Room in Hell 2 Weapon Attachments Guide

Learn attachment slots, compatibility, current effects, how to equip and swap parts, and why an attachment may not appear or fit.

Quick answer

  • 1A firearm only accepts attachments for the Sight, Rail, and Muzzle slots it has.
  • 2Hold the firearm to access its separate attachment inventory.
  • 3Select a compatible attachment for the matching slot to equip or replace it.
  • 4Some built-in attachments can only be replaced and cannot be removed alone.

Attachment Slots and Effects

Compatibility starts with the firearm, not the attachment. Inspect the weapon's available Sight, Rail, and Muzzle slots. A gun can use one compatible item in each slot it supports. Some firearms support all three categories, some support only selected categories, and some have no attachment slots.

Slot or typeCurrent purpose
Combat or holographic sightImproves the ability to deliver accurate follow-up shots
Hunting sightAdds effective range and improves opening-shot accuracy
ScopeProvides a magnified aiming option on compatible firearms
Rail attachmentAdds compatible utility such as a long-gun flashlight
SuppressorGreatly reduces zombie perception and improves ballistic performance

Read the empty slots before you judge an attachment. A useful suppressor still cannot fit a firearm with no compatible Muzzle slot, and a sight made for one weapon group may not appear for another.

How to Equip and Swap Attachments

  1. Put the target firearm in your hands.
  2. Use the current on-screen Action Hint or control binding to inspect its attachment inventory.
  3. Select the compatible attachment category that matches an available weapon slot.
  4. Choose the attachment to fill the empty slot or replace the item already installed.
  5. Return to aiming and firing to check the sight picture, follow-up control, light, or sound profile.

Attachments use a separate inventory that appears while the firearm is held. The old Hold E to Equip prompt was removed, so follow the current Action Hint and your own control bindings.

Some firearms spawn with built-in attachments that cannot be stripped off by themselves. Replace the installed part with another compatible attachment when you want to change that slot.

Why an Attachment Will Not Equip

Check these causes before treating the item as broken:

  1. Wrong held item: the attachment inventory only appears while a firearm is in hand.
  2. Missing slot: the firearm may have no Sight, Rail, or Muzzle slot for that category.
  3. Wrong compatibility: two items can share a broad category while supporting different weapon groups.
  4. Occupied locked slot: a built-in spawn attachment may require a compatible replacement.
  5. Stale interaction state: close the attachment view, switch away from the firearm, re-equip it, and open the view again.

If the firearm shows the correct slot and the compatible item still does not appear after re-equipping the weapon, verify the game files and submit the firearm and attachment names through official support.

Choose the Right Attachment for the Job

Use a combat or holographic sight when repeated shots and target transitions matter more than long-range precision. Use a hunting sight when the route gives you longer sightlines and you can make a deliberate first shot. A suppressor is the strongest choice for reducing the number of zombies drawn by gunfire, especially when the team wants to cross a quiet area without escalating the whole horde.

Do not treat an attachment as a universal upgrade. Match it to the firearm's role, the available ammunition, and the next objective. A sight cannot solve ammunition scarcity, and a suppressor does not make careless positioning safe.
